In search of fall colors I decided to do some location scouting along I-90. I ventured to Snoqualmie and Franklin Falls to capture some photos and scope it out. I was not at the locations at the best time of the day and there was harsh lighting, but I had to capture a couple photos. I also ventured to Rockwood Farms to check the colors and Snoqualmie Falls to shoot a bit of video. A bunch of these photos and video were used on Do206.com for a Fall adventure guide you can see here. Naturally, I went skateboarding for a bit as well! Until next time!
I really enjoy skateboarding and longboarding and if you follow my social media you will see photos of me from time to time. For years I rode Sector 9 Longboards and never in my wildest dreams did I think they would post a photo of me on their socials. Well, they did and I was quite flattered to see my photo on their feeds. It took me quite a long time to land a boneless and when I did a plane just happened to be flying overhead that really made the photo unique in my opinion. For this photo I was shooting with an intravolemter and the camera would take a photo every .5 seconds and luckily I was able to capture it. On that note, thanks for posting Sector 9 and make sure to check out their products!
Recently the Minnesota Vikings reached out to me via Instagram to capture photos of a Minnesota Vikings helmet around Seattle to hype up the Minnesota vs Seahawks preseason game. I love sports and Seattle, so naturally I said yes. Below are some of the photos I captured and you can see more and an interview HERE. I also had the opportunity to capture some photos of the field at the Seahawks VS Vikings preseason game. I sure did miss having a 400mm f2.8, but I made due with the Sigma 150-600mm. I also tried out my new Sony A6500, which did fairly decent.
Seafair 2017 was an interesting one due to massive fires in British Columbia pushing smoke into Seattle and temperatures in the high 80s to 90s. Even with the hot temps and limited visibility the Blue Angels still took flight and I still ventured out to capture some photos of the annual airshow. The view from Kerry Park and the photographers and spectators waiting for the Blue Angels to pass. The rest of the photos were captured from a roof top in Capitol Hill. While I was capturing all of these photos my trusty photo assistant was sound asleep next to me. Hopefully, next year we will have better visibility, so we can actually see Mount Ranier when the Blue Angels fly.
I made the trip to Sacramento with DB Skimboards team rider, Isaac Thomas, and SeventyOne team rider Logan Davidson to meet up with Ruben Luis Gutierrez for some Sacramento skimboarding. This was my last assigment for DB and the footage was just leftovers, but with all of the nice weather I decided to edit something together. Growing up at least once a summer my parents would take us to Cannon Beach, Oregon for a vacation. I have fond memories of skimboarding, riding bikes and running with dogs around the giant Haystack Rock. This spring for my mom’s 60th birthday we traveled down to Cannon Beach for a family gathering. Naturally, I captured some photos while we were there. We drove across the 4 mile Astoria–Megler on our way through Astoria and took a look at the houses featured in the movie Goonies from afar. We stayed at a spot just south of the Wayfair with a small patio that was a great place to put my Sector 9 longboard to use when the sun came out. Naturally, some family photos were captured and I created a gif to show that wonderful process. At this point for family photos I just compose, get the proper settings and focus point and let the built in intravalomter do the rest. My mom likes lots of photos, so it is really is the easiest route at this point. After family-photo fun time with the family and dogs I skimboarded up and down the beach. The Oregon beaches have really hard sand […]
I recently had the opportunity to capture photos for Boberck with one of my longtime friends Anna Douglas. Boberck is a family-ran business built as one of South America’s finest department stores. Since 1970 they have been perfecting crossing oceans to bring their customers one of a kind products. They specialize in German leather jackets that are light and waterproof and that is what my shoot with Anna focused on as you can see below. They also did a blog post about the shoot that you can read about over on there website (CLICK HERE). Take a look at a few behind the scenes shots and then see the finished products, now available on the website. New photos up on our site! Our latest #blog is up detailing the day we were lucky enough to spend with @equalmotion and @annadouglasyoga! Check it out now to see the updates! #fashion #photography #quality A post shared by Boberck (@boberck) on Mar 1, 2017 at 3:02pm PST
I covered the Dinner and a DJ: Vol 1 for Do206.com at Ciudad in Seattle. The event was hosted by Noodle Gang Seattle and Grace Kelly PR. The dinner featured guest chef, Aaron Willis, and DJs Soffos and Ca$h Bandicoot. Below are some photos of the space, food and event along with a video. A full write up can be found at Do206.com HERE.
Spencer from the Seattle band, My Cartoon Heart, recently contacted me about capturing some photos of their show at the Conor Byrne Pub and a few promo portraits. I love capturing live music, so for a small fee I agreed to come capture the show. Before the show I met the duo and we ventured around Ballard for 15 minutes to capture some promo photos for future use. For all of these I used a portable ring flash and a 17-35mm lens. After the quick portrait session we ventured back inside the pub for the show. It was a good time and their mix of original music and covers were a great way to start the weekend. Check out some of the photos below. You can hear My Cartoon Heart’s music at their website and by following any of the links below. Soundcloud BandCamp Facebook
