Halloween in Bellingham

Halloween 2013 seems like the longest holiday extravaganza of my life. I’m not complaining at all though. The day before Halloween I captured photos at Toni & Guy in Bellingham for The Bellingham Herald. I took photos of J.E.M. Special Events & Beauty and Toni & Guy make up and hair artists turn people into zombies for the haunted house put on by Make.Shift at Boundary Bay. After the zombies were ready I walked down to Boundary Bay to shoot a short video of the haunted house you can see below. On Halloween I setup a backdrop at the YMCA for the to take photos of kids trick-or-treating downtown for The Bellingham Herald. It was a real busy two hours of photography, but the kids were great. I ended up with over 80 photos of local trick-or-treates and you can see all the photos HERE and HERE and a few of my favorites below. After I finished those photo galleries I took my Nikon D3s and a 50mm 1.4mm and hit the town to get the adult side of Halloween. All in all it was an eventful week to say the least.

Bellingham Summer Video Project

Bellingham, Washington is a beautiful place to be in the summer. I wanted to try and capture the essence of the Bellingham summer through the things I do and what I see over the course of my favorite time of year. I captured video of skimboarding, sailing, kayaking bike riding and sun through the trees and the lapping waves on the shore in this video edit. This was just a personal project I gave myself and I hope you enjoy it! Photos in Whatcom Magazine

Here are some of my photos that ran in the newest issue of Whatcom Magazine a publication put out by The Bellingham Herald. I snagged the cover photo for the issue with a photo from the Handcrank video shoot in downtown Bellingham on Bay Street. I also had a photo of the tower on Sehome Hill, a portrait with local artist Fancie Allen and a photo of Dashi Noodle bar owner Josh Silverman.

Skimboarding Bellingham on the front page…

I have been trying to capture the final days of summer and a few weeks back The Bellingham Herald sent me out to get some photos of skimboarding (which was great!). My photo snagged the front page of the paper and I also threw together an edit from the skimboarding session you can watch below. Part way through the photo/video shoot I was called out to cover a drug sweep with the Bellingham Police (watch video here). It was an interesting day to say the least…
