I spent a lot of time during the month of May shooting skateboarding and a wedding and I didn’t have that much time to explore Seattle and capture city and landscape photos, which I love doing. I did manage to get out a few days and here’s a few of my favorite photos from the month of May.
An evening at Gas Works Park
I drove around Fremont looking for some new photos of the Aurora Bridge and didn’t see anything I liked due to the construction on the bridge. With light disappearing for the day I decided to dash over to Gas Works Park and managed to get two kinda cool photos of a sail boat and the city. What made one of the photos unique was the sun reflecting off of the buildings in downtown hitting the sail of the boat and creating a shadow of the sail.
The Space Needle
The Space Needle is always around me and I can’t resit capturing photos of it. If there are shoes hanging in front of it, a plane flying by it, a flag on it or just a beautiful sunset more often than not I am going to capture a photo of it.
Snails and rain
It rained a decent amount in May and I captured a few decent photos of the rain and snails traveling back and forth across the sidewalks of Capitol Hill. It’s always fun to get the 105mm macro out and wander my neighborhood looking for new photos. I also may have nerded out a bit with a Lego or two.
Skateboarding in Seattle and Tacoma
I work for DB Longboards and DB Skimboards, so naturally I capture a fair amount of action sports photos. Here are three of my favorites from the month. The first two are from Alchemy Skateboarding in Tacoma and the last two are of me and part of my new “Boneless In Seattle” photo project.
Seattle at Night
I love capturing long exposure photos and I always try to hit up a few of my favorite spots when I can to try and get a new angle or try something different. Here are three of my favorites from West Seattle and Beacon Hill.
And last, but not least. A photo I captured at Fireman’s Park in Tacoma of Mount Rainier. I loved the ability to frame the mountain in the bridge.
