A Winter Adventure In Winthrop

Washington offers a couple great winter getaway options and Winthrop is one of them! I recently ventured over to Winthrop for a friend’s birthday and we stayed in Mazama, which is right next to Winthrop. Not until we drove into Winthrop did we realize it was the weekend of the Winthrop Hot Air Balloon Festival! We enjoyed the hot air balloons, a live performance by Saint Claire at the Sixknot Cider House and some food from the Carlos 1600 Mexican Grill. We heard the rumor that Chumbawamba keyboardist, Danbert Nobacon, lives in Winthrop. Then we actually saw him in the Sixknot Cider House and I talked with him a bit to verify he lives in Winthrop. He actually lives in the nearby town of Twisp. We also tried to start he rumor the HBO series Westworld is filmed in Winthrop. Not sure if it stuck, but we tried. Overall, if you head to Winthrop during the winter make sure to check out the Hot Air Ballon Festival and be on the lookout for members of Chumbawamba. If you get a chance head to Mazama for some cross country skiing, chopping wood, nature and enjoying the view from Last Chance Point.

Get Outside! My favorite walks in Seattle

I spend quite a bit of time venturing to different parks and trails around Seattle to walk my dog, take photos and enjoy a little bit of nature. I created a guide featuring the Best Walks In Seattle over on Do206.com and wanted to list a few of my favorites here as well. Mercer Slough Nature Park Located in Bellevue, the Mercer Slough Nature Park offers a sizable wildland escape right in the city of Bellevue. The park offers 7.1 miles of hiking area, a canoe trail, seasonal blueberry farm, picnic areas, restrooms, the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center and more. Seattle Waterfront When it comes to generating heaping amounts of city view jealousy few sites are quite as valuable as the Seattle Waterfront. Seriously, after seeing months of grey, just getting in a five second view of the Puget Sound ringed by the tree filled/snow capped Cascade mountains makes you realize just how good we have it. Thats why we like to hit up the Waterfront trail by Myrtle Edwards park which has both bike and pedestrian paths that include SAM’s Olympic Sculpture Park as well as access to the classic waterfront and shops. Discovery Park When most people […]

Seattle Hidden Gems with Abercrombie & Fitch and Do206

I recently teamed up with Do206 and Abercrombie & Fitch for a branded content advertising campaign. I did some research, captured photos and video for the campaign and created an online guide. Not only was the guided content received well, but Abercrombie renewed their contract with Do206. I couldn’t be happier to help that relationship grow and expand with my content.

Pearl Jam Flag Atop The Space Needle Photo Goes Viral

Pearl Jam lead guitarist Mike McCready raised the Pearl Jam flag on top of the Space Needle Jan. 22, 2018. Pearl Jam announced The Home Shows, 2 concerts in Seattle on August 8 & 10 at Safeco Field! The shows aim to unite the community to help alleviate homelessness in the city of Seattle. I do promo work for Do206 and LiveNation and I heard they were raising a flag atop the Space Needle, so I rushed to my photo spot and snapped a photo. Combined that with the press release and social posts and it went viral thanks to Do206 and Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam retweet Do206 and reposted my photo on Instagram. Not a bad start to the week and it’s always great to help spread awareness to an amazing show for a great cause.

2017 Photos Of The Year In Seattle

2017 has a crazy year in the news and with politics, but that didn’t stop it from being a beautiful year through my lens. Here are some of my favorite photos captured in 2017! Seattle Women’s March The view of the Women’s March on Seattle with record setting crowds on Jan. 21st. Capitol Hill Rainbow A summer solstice sunset brought us an amazing rainbow over Capitol Hill. West Seattle Reflections The lights of Seattle always look the best from Alki Beach in my opinion. I think this photo supports that statement. Warm Summer Nights On The Waterfront It was a beautiful warm summer night on the Seattle Waterfront and I took a few photos and this was my favorite from the evening. Fall At Jose Rizal I spent quite a bit of time pushing leaves in the hole in the fence at Jose Rizal Park. I think it was worth it for this photo. Seahawks From The Sideline I was lucky enough to capture a coiuple of Seahawks games and one of my favorite photos was Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman and Bobby Wagner talking on the sideline before the game. A Sad Day Everywhere The view of the Space Needle […]

Fall Colors In Seattle

Fall in the Pacific Northwest is a thing of beauty. I spent quite a bit of time venturing around the greater Seattle area seeking out fiery foliage and fall colors. Below are just some of the images I captured around Seattle in fall 2017. I still have more to edit and will most likely be adding to this post in a couple days. Fall Colors Along Lake Washington A great place to capture some fall colors is around Lake Washington. The trees under I-90 and near Mount Baker Park are always beautiful to capture. Fall Colors Above I-90 Kubota Garden Fall Colors Kuboata Garden located in south Seattle offers changing colors, waterfalls and a relaxing walk through the Japanese style garden.
