Portland Road Trip with DB Longboards

Two weeks ago I ventured to Portland with DB Longboards, Cloud Ride Wheels and Atlas Trucks to capture some promo photo and video for an event taking place this Saturday at Switchbacks in Portland with Daddies Board Shop. Here are some of the photos from the trip. My favorite part of the trip was visiting Rowena Crest along the Columbia River, which is the beautiful road at the end of the video. >

Photos/Video featured in Pulse Skimboarding Magazine

I recently had a photo and video featured in Pulse Skimboarding Magazine and am stoked as always to help promote the sport of skimboarding that I love. I had one photo of DB Skimboards team rider Blake Zimmerman run along with an edit of DB Skimboards rider Adien Raza run in the magazine. It was cool to get one of my videos from my trip to Europe featured along with a Pacific Northwest skimboaridng photo. It was an extra bonus to get these both featured in the magazine. DB Skimboards Mini Skim Edits

In hopes of pushing some holiday sales at DB Skimboards I put together several “mini edits” featuring DB Skimboards team riders. I also broke all of these videos up into 15 second versions that were also posted on Instagram and Facebook. The promos worked really well and sales were up over last year with no paid advertising support, which was great. As I go into 2015 I am going to try put out more media that is tailored to each social media platform with an end goal of trying to push traffic back to our websites. It’s a big challenge and I am excited to see what I can do over the next couple months.

2014 DB Pro Skimboarding Contest

For the past 6 years I have been attending and capturing the DB Pro skimboarding contest that takes place at Dash Point in Federal Way, Washington. Here’s my video edit and a few photos from the contest. The 2014 DB Skimboards Pro/AM took place on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Dash Point, in Federal Way, Washington. To the surprise of no one Isaac Thomas took the pro division win again with his brother Josiah Thomas taking first in the amateur division. Bree Staab won the women’s division and Reed Shumpert won the amateur division. Outside of the standings there was a ton of solid tricks landed by the likes of Devin Poulton and his madonna and Cardo Vega and the benihana. Adam Ballaam took 2nd in the pro division and although he didn’t have as many clean landings as Isaac, Adam put on one hell of a show. Cody Mauer from Utah also stood out by going big and landing a ton of tricks. Ruei Chiu from Taiwan also competed, so the contest had an international presence outside of the United States and Canada, which is always great to see. Mt Baker Seshup Photos and Video

A few of my friends convinced me to go up to the 2014 Mt Baker Seshup at Mt Baker last weekend and I do not regret the decision to go in the least bit. It was a beautiful day and a damn good time. Close to 200 people gathered to watch some of the top snowboarders in the region show their stuff at the 2014 Mt. Baker Seshup on Sunday, June 1, on Grandma’s at the base of Mount Herman near Mt. Baker Ski Area. The session featured a gap on the in run and a 10- to 12-foot jump that launched riders 20 to 25 feet in the air and 40 feet out. Spark Museum: Tesla Coil / MegaZapper photos and video

The Bellingham Herald sent me to the Spark Museum in Bellingham last week to capture the Electric Show and the MegaZapper, which is a large Tesla Coil. Bellingham Summer Video Project

Bellingham, Washington is a beautiful place to be in the summer. I wanted to try and capture the essence of the Bellingham summer through the things I do and what I see over the course of my favorite time of year. I captured video of skimboarding, sailing, kayaking bike riding and sun through the trees and the lapping waves on the shore in this video edit. This was just a personal project I gave myself and I hope you enjoy it!
