Seattle: Washington Park Arboretum Marine Trail

The Washington Park Arboretum sits along Lake Washington in Seattle, Washington and it is a beautiful place to explore in the Seattle time. I recently took a walk with my girlfriend Alyne and dog Charlie along the Marine Trail and captured a few photos. The parks 230 acres offers a dynamic assortment of plants found nowhere else and this trail was beautiful. The trail weaves around the shoreline and underneath the I-90 bridge. You can see lots of boats, canoes and jet ski’s roaming the lake along with a great view of the Montlake Bridge that carries State Route 513 (Montlake Boulevard) over Seattle’s Montlake Cut—part of the Lake Washington Ship Canal—connecting Montlake and the University District. The Montlake Bridge is celebrated as the site of boating season’s “opening day” festivities the first Saturday in May and today it was obvious boating season was in full-effect. Anyways, if you haven’t walked along this trail and live in Seattle make sure to.

2014 DB Pro Skimboarding Contest

For the past 6 years I have been attending and capturing the DB Pro skimboarding contest that takes place at Dash Point in Federal Way, Washington. Here’s my video edit and a few photos from the contest. The 2014 DB Skimboards Pro/AM took place on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Dash Point, in Federal Way, Washington. To the surprise of no one Isaac Thomas took the pro division win again with his brother Josiah Thomas taking first in the amateur division. Bree Staab won the women’s division and Reed Shumpert won the amateur division. Outside of the standings there was a ton of solid tricks landed by the likes of Devin Poulton and his madonna and Cardo Vega and the benihana. Adam Ballaam took 2nd in the pro division and although he didn’t have as many clean landings as Isaac, Adam put on one hell of a show. Cody Mauer from Utah also stood out by going big and landing a ton of tricks. Ruei Chiu from Taiwan also competed, so the contest had an international presence outside of the United States and Canada, which is always great to see.
