Summer Skimboard Media for DB Skimboards

During summer 2015 I set out on a mission to spread the stoke of flatland skimboarding for DB Skimboards a company based in Tacoma, Washington. My main goal was to create engaging content to delight current customers and help introduce new outdoor enthusiasts to the sport of flatland skimboarding. I am excited to say that not only has traffic been up at DBskimboards.com, so has sales at the local company. My first approach to expanding the reach of the business is creating a series of road trip videos. I traveled with a crew of skimboarders for two weeks through Washington, Utah and California. It was great to get out on the open road and see parts of the country I have not seen before. It was also great to indulge in some In-N-Out Burger along the way. Spring Skateboard Media

Spring has been very busy trying to create media and marketing campaigns for new products for DB Longboards and Cloud Ride Wheels. Here’s three of my favorite recent skate videos I have created over the past couple months. CoreFlex Compound Spring Maryhill Freeride Cloud Ride Wheels Slusheez In between all of this media production and long work days I have actually been skateboarding more, which has been a huge stress reliever although it does take a toll on my body at 34-years old. Capturing marketing media has been a huge shift from being a photojournalist and web developer, but I am really enjoying it. I have learned so much about how to create more engaging and useful media and how to properly track, analyze and and repurpose it. I am excited for what opportunities might be next!

Cloud Ride Wheels Slusheez Video

I have been filming with Cloud Ride Wheels team rider Devon Dotson quite a bit the last month and we finally got to release our first edit featuring the Cloud Ride Slusheez. Manatee Commune live at Nectar in Seattle

I have had the pleasure of watching and listening Grant Eadie aka the electronic artist Manatee Commune grow as a musisican over the past couple year and it has been amazing how far his music has come. Manatee Commune plays multiple instruments on stage and then loops all the audio to create full songs as a one man band. Last night I had ventured to Nectar Lounge in Seattle to watch Manatee Commune live for the first time in over a year and he was on point. I told my girlfriend before the show “I was only going to take three photos” and that didn’t happen because I ended up capturing several photos and making a montage edit to one of my favorite songs on the new Thistle EP “Simple Lessons”.

2015 Longboarding Highlight Video

I have now worked at DB Longboards, Atlas Trucks and Cloud Ride wheels for one year. Here’s some of my favorite clips captured for all three companies. Star Wars The Force Awakens: The Adventures of BB-8

Meet BB-8 from the new Star Wars movie “The Force Awakens” in toy form. I recently purchased the BB-8 and decided to shoot a small promo video for it. BB-8 from Sphero is something unlike any other robot – an adaptive personality that changes as you play. Based on your interactions, BB-8 will show a range of expressions and even perk up when you give voice commands. You can watch the video I created below. My dog Charlie really like the toy at first. Now he is kinda bored of playing with it. Regardless, the technology in this little toy is pretty rad and I already have my tickets for Dec. 19th to see the new movie. Now I just hope Luke Skywalker is not Kylo Ren…

Skate Everything in Seattle

Over the past couple months I have been filming with DB Longboards team rider Devon Dotson skating on the Keystone 37″. We hit up a downhill spot near Mount Vernon, but besides that we filmed in the Seattle area. We hit up two skate parks and a couple freeride spots. It was somewhat difficult to film due to all of the rain, but we managed to put together this edit by our December 1st deadline. Hope you like the new video and you can view it below.

New longboarding video and Bring Summer Back Please

I have been editing so many longboarding and skimboarding videos I captured last summer it is seriously making me miss the summer weather, actives and vibes. I had to hold all of this media for winter product releases and I just released my first media package for the Atlas Trucks Touch Enabled Slide Gloves last Wednesday. Atlas Trucks team rider Jackson Wells and I ventured to Everett to find some new longboarding spots that have not been overshot and we did find a couple of great spots. I spent last weekend sitting on top of a mountain in the rain capturing photos of the WhistlerLongboard Festival. Luckily I was brought enough rain gear to keep me dry for three days. DB Skimboards Skim Camp Photos and video (cute kids post)

Last week I captured photos and video for DB Skimboards of their annual DB Skim Camp at Dash Point in Federal Way, Washington. Not only were these kids unbelievably stoked to be at the beach all day they were also just adorable. Here’s some photos and a promo edit I made during one day of the skimboard camp.
