World Cup Soccer at the Copper Hog in Bellingham

The Bellingham Herald sent me to the Copper Hog to capture photos of locals watching the U.S. v. Germany World Cup soccer game Thursday morning. Over 100 people showed up at the Copper Hog to watch the game and the restaurant/bar was full of all kinds of soccer fans. Although the U.S. lost to Germany 1-0 the U.S. still moved on to the knockout round of 16, so soccer fans celebrated and continued to day drink. 2014 Ski to Sea Race Photos

Another Ski to Sea is in the books. I worked from 4:30am to 8pm yesterday to capture the race and to help put together four photo pages for The Bellingham Herald. Ski to Sea Preview: Racer portraits

I was given the task to create some portraits for the Ski to Sea special section that The Bellingham Herald puts out each year. I used a ring flash and a random wall in the basement of The Bellingham Herald building to create all of these portraits. I also had a bunch of photos from last year’s race run in the special section and will be back up on the mountain covering the cross country and downhill legs of the race again this year.

Spark Museum: Tesla Coil / MegaZapper photos and video

The Bellingham Herald sent me to the Spark Museum in Bellingham last week to capture the Electric Show and the MegaZapper, which is a large Tesla Coil. The Bellingham Herald puts out Whatcom Magazine four times a year and I had a fair amount of photos in the newest issue. I was pretty excited to get one of my surfing photos from Westport published along with all the other photos from photo assignments over the past 6 months. Photos in Whatcom Magazine

Here are some of my photos that ran in the newest issue of Whatcom Magazine a publication put out by The Bellingham Herald. I snagged the cover photo for the issue with a photo from the Handcrank video shoot in downtown Bellingham on Bay Street. I also had a photo of the tower on Sehome Hill, a portrait with local artist Fancie Allen and a photo of Dashi Noodle bar owner Josh Silverman.

Skimboarding Bellingham on the front page…

I have been trying to capture the final days of summer and a few weeks back The Bellingham Herald sent me out to get some photos of skimboarding (which was great!). My photo snagged the front page of the paper and I also threw together an edit from the skimboarding session you can watch below. Part way through the photo/video shoot I was called out to cover a drug sweep with the Bellingham Police (watch video here). It was an interesting day to say the least…
